    First the facts… The Save Shalimar protest petition scored a major win this week. The current rezoning proposal now requires a super-majority vote, should it even get to City Council. We’re determined to stop it. Read on for the fun part 🙂

    Our protest petition has been validated by the City of Tempe. Any zoning approval now requires a ‘Super-Majority’ of the City Council to approve.

    A public relations firm has been hired by the developer to ‘work the community’ in support of their high-density housing proposal and the destruction of Shalimar, a 44-acre green space. Get the full update.

    Since I last communicated, the developer has submitted a formal proposal for high-density construction on the Shalimar Golf Course property. The proposed design has not changed much from what we have previously seen in the preliminary plan.   • Shalimar Association Annual Meeting & Save Shalimar Update

    The annual meeting of the Shalimar Association is Wednesday, November 13, 2024. New board members will be elected during the business meeting from 5pm-6pm. From 6pm-7pm, a full campaign update will be provided with time to answer questions.
