SAVE SHALIMAR

The Tempe General Plan 2050 currently reflects land use for the Shalimar Golf Course as “Low to Moderate Density” with up to nine dwelling units per acre. Additionally, the current developer plans to build these homes not for traditional home sales, but as rental properties.

Please submit your email address if you are opposed to Tempe’s plan to eliminate all open space within our communities. The Shalimar Association believes over-development is destroying Tempe residents’ quality of life and eliminating the character that has made our city great. Stop letting developers determine our future, and allow your voice to be heard.

Stated simply, the 2025 milestone is the year our covenant expires. The Shalimar Association has successfully advocated for many years to maintain the Shalimar golf course as just that, a golf course. Potentially, there is nothing after 2025 to prevent the golf course from being sold and developed as private homes or other high-density development that is incompatible with the existing Shalimar neighborhood. As neighbors, we are the best advocates for the future of Shalimar golf course and our collective voice can influence the outcome.
