We, the undersigned, express our strong opposition to the proposed rezoning of the 44 acres currently occupied by the Shalimar Golf Course. 

The Guiding Principles of Tempe General Plan 2050 include balanced land use, enhancement of quality life, preservation of neighborhood character, and environmental stewardship. Rezoning this land directly contradicts these principles and we respectfully request that the City Council uphold their commitment to these core values while managing responsible growth. 

Additionally, we acknowledge the private landowner’s rights to develop their land within current zoning, but adamantly oppose unnecessary rezoning and overdevelopment at this site, which we believe is not in the general public interest. We urge our elected City Council members to protect the future of our community by rejecting the proposed rezoning.
